I use two methods. I use outlook automation, if its an interactive enviromnt, where you want or need additional notes put on the email, so using outlook ole -works but you pay for it in performance, by loading, and requiring installing outlook etc.
but for 'Automatic' email, like reports, pdf files, etc, I use Blat, its simple, the install is trivial, and works, first time, everytime.
its a command line type program which works like sendmail on UNIX / systems, and run like run blat file.txt -t
me@email.com thats about it.
