He posed a few questions and I gave some scriptural examples to answer them.
As the bait (which I admit I took) was cast at someone I understand to be Christian, Christian scripture seemed appropriate in response to some.
He did not misquote the Bible - his scripture references were correct and say what he said they said.
I merely wanted to point out --
-- that there is more to the Bible than the 2nd and 3rd books. And more to those than a handful of verses. Hence the Alexander Pope quote.
-- asking silly questions about a subject which people have held sacred and serious for millenia is not something that should be taken lightly, whether you hold the same beliefs or not. Hence the CS Lewis reference.
Perhaps Steve meant it satirically; to point out the ridiculousness of partially quoting a source to defend a position.
If that is the case, Steve, I sincerely apologize.
