Erik,

>I have no idea about your personal post history, but if you have ever had a question answered by someone that you have never answered a question for, your above statement would be incorrect.

That doesn't wash...this forum is about the "common good". If I answer any questions well, I have added to the common good. Call it karma or whatever you wish. My point is that to simply state that the advice given here is "free" doesn't tell the whole story. We all work to keep the forum informative and accurate, so we all do our part. Whether our answers directly exchange with each other is immaterial.

>It's pointed at anyone that shares the sentiment you seem to be expressing- that people that offer opinions or partial answers are wasting our time. If I misunderstood your point, I apologize.

So...one can be a jerk simply for expressing/sharing a sentiment? Let me make something clear -- again. I have _never_ specifically berated anyone for giving a partial answer or an answer that annoyed me. I have always said "please" and "thank" you at the appropriate spots, and no one has ever come back at me saying I was an ingrate or a jerk (well, until now). I have the right to express any sentiment I wish. Here's another dumb analogy from the desk of Joe: I can say that people who don't use their turn signal should be shot in the face, but unless I actually perpetrate said shooting, I will not go to prison, and will not be considered a face-shooter. Let's keep a line between folks expressing opinions and folks actually acting like jerks, shall we?

I guess this thread has been moved to something like "Response Guidelines" under chatter, so if you wish to continue this, throw something up under that topic and let me know...

Regards,
JoeK
