Thanks for the response. What provoked me to do these tests is that we (consultants team) have not updated (at client site) from VFP 5.0 to 6.0 because the test at the client site indicate times like 3 to 5 seconds to run a simple SQL command (Select Distinct AB From Tablex) in VFP 5.0 and 15 to 18 seconds to run the same command in VFP 6.0 on the same hardware/environment.

The tests I refered to in my original post was ones that I ran on my personal workstations and server and at home. Not quite as extreme but still does not support the upgrade to VFP 6. At home I've been using 6.0 since it was available. I will start checking time at my other client sites. I'm searching for an explaination and hopefully a resolution. VFP 6.0 has would resolve some printing problems that we have not been able to resolve with 5.0, but can't justify the timming problems
