By the meter, of course. My late uncle was doing it with wine when we went for a picnic - he lined up the empty bottles and measured the length :)

One of the things I'm missing here is the German half-liter of full liter krüg (or krigla, in Serbian transcript). We're usually splitting three beers to two persons, so we get our regular measure of half-liter-per-throat.

Exceptionally, the end of millenium will be cellebrated with the Shiner Bock of Texas, which is surprisingly good. Of course, de gustibus non est disputandum :)
