Windows98 SE and above (W2K) have the ability to share an Internet connection... you will have to have 2 NICS installed in the computer. One connected to the Cable Modem, and one connected to the LAN. Then set up the LAN card with a 192.168.0.x IP Scheme and assign your internal networked computers an IP address in the same sequence... voila!!

You can also download firewall programs to install on the exposed computer to help protect your systems.
