You work either with VFP5 or you have in VFP6 never set STRICTDATE to anything but 0. :-)

The caret in the date constant signs VFP6 that this is a fixed format date that is independend of the actual setting you choose with SET DATE and will always been read as ^yyyy-mm-dd[,][hh[:mm[:ss]][a|p]].
