Bob, I didn’t think any of the replies was mean spirited. But, with the exception of Charlie Schreiner’s, none of them was answering my question, rather tried to make me forget about my question. I asked for help to ride my new bike, and was asked if I ever tried walking… And the chorus: Walk, You better walk, walk better!

The message was titled “Datasession troubles” and what I wanted was to get ideas in what was wrong in my use of datasession object, and/or any explanation of the errors I described. I had no troubles in solving the problem using any of the methods suggested – yours included.
One problem with all of them is that, in theory, the alias of the lookup table may be in use. Sometimes I do use SELECT… INTO ARRAY for lookups, which won’t change the work area or move the record pointer, but it will open the source…
