That's what I was looking for. I already had the presavehook of each child set to replace the foreign key. So that was not a problem. The code in the deactivate did the trick, the parent gets saved before they can leave that page. Now one more thing, is there a simple way to have the focus stay on the detail page once the record is saved instead of going back to page 1 of the pageframe.
