Sorry Todd - the whole thing just got too complicated for our requirments...we're now just replacing the existing file by overwriting the old PDF file name with the new one. I have also noticed that the addition of service pack 4 (we put this on a week or so ago) did make the process of writing to a PDF file much more stable - in the past it was pretty much "crossing your fingers" and hoping that it worked.
