As has already been pointed out, Symbol is probably the product your looking for, they come with a built in bar code reader. You can even choose the operating system: Palm OS [SPT1700] or Win CE [PPT2700].

You'll find that they are rather more expensive than your average PDA since they are ruggedized and built for an industrial environment, however if you want something cheaper they offer a less ruggedized version [SPT1500] that sells for around $550.

I had a trial with the Percon and I didn't like it at all. If your application is going to include graphics, forget it!
