Maybe you haven't heard much about it because it is not released yet. It would be with Visual Studio .Net, at some point after middle year (and probably before the sun collapses).
Anyway, you can learn a lot about it, maybe starting with the .Net page at MSDN. There are already a couple of books about it, and it seems that a lot of internal development at Miscrosoft its being done on C#. Apparently, most ASP.Net (formerly ASP+) is written in C#. Maybe one of our MS friends here at the UT can give us more details...
I can't tell you "go on, bet you career on C#", but it seems a good idea to take a look at it if you want to expand your horizons beyond VFP and even more if you are attracted or have any plans to develop using the .Net framework.
