First get "Microsoft Office Automation with Visual FoxPro" by Tamar E. Granor and Della Martin. Edited by Ted Roche. You can get it at the Hentzenwerke site. This is the best book around for Word (or other MS Office products) automation. Second, do some searches and look at the threads in the last year here on UT. There's a lot of good stuff.
