Title:
Best way to repair an ODBC installation
Hi All
I have a problem with a client's workstation (NT4 SP5), where the install of a third party software seems to have destroyed the former ODBC install.
Every time the machine is booted now, there are errors stating functions not found in MSVCRT.DLL. I checked that dll and found that the version it has now is far older than the rest of the ODBC dlls. I first replaced that dll with the former one, but with no success. I still get the same errors. I haven't seen any way to deinstall the whole ODBC support before reinstalling it again and now I'm looking for a way to repair it.
Of course I'm too lazy to do a complete reinstall of the OS and all the apps and data. Does anyone know if an update with MDAC 2.5 (or even 2.6) can fix that or should I better make an clean install disk from VFP that only installs ODBC?
TIA
Markus
