True, I actually didn't discover SCATTER .. name for making objects on the fly until after I'd already implemented the other solution! It may even be pretty easy to do some type of cut and paste type operation using a sort of scratch object like this, where you could interactively choose which fields to fill in from the copied previous record. I may want to revisit this during development of my new project I have going.
