Sorry, too easy. Supposedly DCOM works on Windows 98 if you run the EXE on the machine before someone tries to connect to it. However, there have been a number of threads concerning this and I don't think anyone was successful getting a DCOM server running successfully on 98.
Is NT/2000 an option?
