On this topic, how much before the conference should I book the hotel and flights? One thing I have noticed is that flights can get really cheap within a 3 months time period. Booking too far in advance is expensive.

I missed the Orlando hotel when it was there in 1998 and had to do a daily commute.
This time I'm ahead and already got a reservation.
