I was just reading this thread, also, and it seems that this form of Anna's should come up pretty quickly. I have a lot of forms in my project and a lot more data-intensive activity, and it was running on Pentium 233's for about a year with no complaints from the users.

I am wondering if the switch to Delphi or whatever will even produce a noticable improvement in form instantiation?

BTW, I did use Delphi myself for some projects I did in graduate school, none involving any database activity. I found it to be a nice tool. I learned how to program in PASCAL originally, and so that part of it presented no problems.
