Hi Doug,

You might want to check to make sure that your "Primary" Video
Driver is set for the monitor and not the Laptop's Screen.
I am very certain that I goofed up the verbage there, since
I dont have my Laptop here... Dont fret.. Sony couldnt
help me either... After about 4 hours of playing around I
finally got mine to work with the ATI RAGE Mobility Chipset..

If you have the ATI Chipset, the Properties of the Video Adapter should
have 3 pictures of yer Laptop or Monitor. Finding this and
modifying it should set you on the right path...

I hope I gave you some ideas ...

Bob

>Anyone else run into this? I just installed Windows 2000 Server on a new Dell laptop. The laptop is in a docking station with a Dell M770 monitor attached. Although the monitor is capable of 1280x1024, changing the resolution from 1024x768 (the default since that's the max the laptop screen is capable of) to 1280x1024 doesn't change the resolution, it just changes the desktop size to that and I have to scroll to see it all. Dell support couldn't help, and seemed to imply that's all Windows 2000 Server can do, which is bogus.
