>>>Hi.
>>>I have a report which only displays certian records from a table. the table contains items and their prices. I am able to display only certian items from the table, but at the bottom I have a output field which is supposed to sum the displayed items prices. However, it displays the total of all prices in the whole database of items. Is there a way to total them in the report, or do I have to somehow figure that out before I generate the report?
>>> TIA,
>>Hi Jason,
>> Go into the report writer of Fox; select variables from the Report menu. Add a variable, count a field on your report and have it reset at the end of the report. Print this field in a summary band at the end of the report. If this is what you are doing already, then I suggest you use a SQL query to pull out the info you need to report on, since you will only receive those select records the count at the end of your report will be correct. Hope this helps. Monica

>how are you determining which items to include in the report? this may have something to do with your incorrect total... i'd suggest performing a sql selection and reporting off of this table...

Yeah, that's what I ended up doing....
It was a lot easier than I had anticipated.
Thanks
