>Anyone else run into this? I just installed Windows 2000 Server on a new Dell laptop. The laptop is in a docking station with a Dell M770 monitor attached. Although the monitor is capable of 1280x1024, changing the resolution from 1024x768 (the default since that's the max the laptop screen is capable of) to 1280x1024 doesn't change the resolution, it just changes the desktop size to that and I have to scroll to see it all. Dell support couldn't help, and seemed to imply that's all Windows 2000 Server can do, which is bogus.

That's flat-out not the case - I'm running @ 1280x1024 on one of the monitors right now on 2K server - Matrox G450 dualhead; I've done the same with the older single-head Matrox G200. AFAIK, the video subsystem for all the Win2K platform is identical, as was the case with the vaqrious NT flavors.
FWIW, I also run WTS thin clients at 1280x1024 without scrolling around. I suspect the video driver is to blame here.
