This is not part of your original questions, but you did mention this is also a POS app. Will receipt printers and/or cash drawers be required as well? If so, I highly recommend setting a standard receipt printer or else you will be writing code for each variation of printer model. I strongly suggest you consider Epson POS products. They have a free [download] developer kit that integrates with VFP extremely well. It comes with and ActiveX control and DLLs so you can use either or both. Sample code is included.
