The user should change that in control panel."), in my mind at least, had the tone of "I know what I'm talking about & you should do what I say, without need for explanation". As I've just replied to Ed Rauh, with a few extra seconds effort, just mentioning it is against the published Windows guidelines would have at least given a different tone & possibly guided the questioner in the right direction to useful information.

And Craig *usually* points out this kind of response in his posts (see the guidelines). In this particular instance, he did not. I'm not running to his defense, but you're also not looking at the whole picture. FWIW.
