JR> Question for you: is there still a private VFP MVP Newsgroup?
GT> Oh boy, I'm really not comfortable talking about the MVP program, but AFAIK, the answer is affirmative.<

Thought so. That was one of the "elitist" things that made me uncomfortable. A private online forum for people who distinguish themselves in online forums. Why?

>>Oh, one thing you might consider in light of some of your previous posts and questions. Since last fall there have been 5 new VFP MVPs. Consider that in light of some of my earlier statements.<<

I saw that and it is great to see new blood.

FWIW, there is nothing wrong with "life membership" as long as people keep their skills up. Many professions (law for example) support this ideal and once a university professor, you retain that title for life even after leaving academia. I have no problem with a similar status for MVP's as long as we are open and transparent about it.

"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
