Rick, having frustrated myself with other accounting apps, I would like to offer one simple suggestion for your FAQ project.

EXPORT from the accounting app first!

As you said, you don't have to return all the fields, but sometimes you do need all the commas!

Also, you can then modify fields in the exported data, and try to reload it, thus learning the quirks of the accounting system before adding the FOX issues!

I've found that doing it this way, I was also able to build & test my fox tables , for numeric & date issues!

Another issue that drove me crazy was the regional date/time Windows settings, users sometimes have Quickbooks set to a corporate date/time format but have their PC set to a personal preference! FOX reads the Windows preference and may reverse day month, etc when doing a plain text dump !

I'm looking forward to the FAQ, because I too have to work with QB in the future!
