We import a some text files with lines around 4000 characters long. VFP has no problem handling them.

We do have one minor problems. Only on certain machines, some characters in the file somehow overprint others when being rendered on the screen. The file contains no high bit or low bit ascii characters (other than a cr-lf at the end of each line). The problem occurs in both vfp and notepad. But it only occurs on some machines but not others. It is not operating system specific. We have NT and 2000 machines both with and without the problem. Nor is it video card or video driver specific. On those machines where it occurs, we can workaround the problem by changing the font to terminal 12. (Other fonts and sizes work some, but not all of the time. Terminal 12 always works.)

We can live with this: but it is driving us nuts trying to figure out what is going on. If anyone has knows what is happening here, please do let us know.
Thanks
