Does that mean that someone who got a MVP award in 1993 but is no longer active on-line, is still a MVP?

Surely you have to be selected in the "current period" to call yourself a MVP. IMHO the value of the award is that somebody calling themselves a MVP has exceptional *current* competence and is thus somebody to seek out. If a MVP's competence may have lapsed as far back as 1993, it devalues the award IMHO.

"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
