Rod;

Last night Governor Davis gave what I thought was a damn good speech about the state of California. He stated electricity was a necessity for the state and its residents and we were being robbed. Interesting how where my father grew up (Ukiah, Oregon), electricity was not available when he was a boy. We went to visit the ranch in 1947 and there still was no electricity available. Many areas of the United States had no electricity until somewhat recent times.

When my grandfather was a boy (1890) in San Francisco, the chief means of obtaining hot water was “Solar Heaters”. Along came PG&E and changed all that – now we have a natural gas shortage. Now when I was a boy (1940’s) there were 4.5 million people in California. Today, I think I have that many on the block were I live in Sunnyvale!
