I suppose that would depend on what you want QuickBooks to do for you. Some questions to ask would be:
* Are there actual invoices involved?
* If so, are they being printed by another app or do you need QB to print them?
* If they're being printed by another app, do you still need QB to keep a record of them?
* If these are cash sales, do you still need to keep track of individual sales by customer?
* Do you use accounts receivable, or is everything considered a cash sale?
Either way you describe would work, I guess, but the information you choose to import would impact what you could then have QB do for you, as well as how the audit trail in QB would look.
