Most of us do support Erik's position on this, loudly and publicly, but, there are issues. The more recent MVPs, myself included, are subject to annual reviews and have absolutely no guarantee of renewal. And that's fine: If I have not contributed, then I don't deserve it.

OTOH, the program was not clearly defined in the beginning and MS may run into issues if it drops some of the veteran MVPs. I can't really get into more detail without getting some people very pissed off at me.
