>Is it possible to build a CHM file from VFP?

Ken,

You can certainly use VFP to generate the source files that are required by the MS HTML Help compiler, which is a free download. You can invoke the compiler from VFP, but I'm not sure about the extent to which this can be automated, or how awkward it would be to make this look reasonably seamless. I suspect that WSH (Windows Scripting Host) could be useful here, but I don't yet know the first thing about it. This is high on my list of things I'd like to learn more about. For starters, I'm curious to know if I'm right that WSH could be used to construct a convenient wrapper for making programmatic use of HTML Help Workshop, i.e. to eliminate the need for any user interaction in invoking the compilation and exiting from HH Workshop.
