I'm a VFP developer in a Novell shop. You could put an NT server on the network and your app on it, but if you're like I am, you don't want to spend the bucks on new hardware if you can help it. I currently have a few VFP apps running on pure NetWare 5.0 environments very successfully, so I have to think it's something else. Here's where I'd start....

1. First run the app locally on a "virgin" machine to make sure the runtime is being installed properly and to eliminate any network client issues.

2. Use the Novell client uninstall program UNC32.EXE (available on the latest client CD or at www.novell.com/download ) to uninstall the client, then reinstall it. Be sure you are installing the 3.3 rev for Windows 95. Sometimes the client configuration gets fouled up and simply using the Windows uninstall won't clear out the offending file or registry entry.

3. Try installing the ZENworks 3 Support Pack 1 ( zfd3sp1.exe available at the Novell download site ). This fixes some W95 client problems.

4. Finally, the problem may lie with Windows 95 itself. If your Windows load on the offending computer is old, it may be time to reload Windows. But if the hanging problem is network-wide, reloading Windows won't help.
