we are using microsoft's exception monitor to analyse a server that's not doing what it's supposed to do, i.e. serve pages and be active about it. The event viewer didn't show any signs of trouble, even when the IIS service stopped or was corrupted ('the service is not responding to the control function'). Even when the server crashed the logs wouldn't tell us anything useful. So, Ixptmon to the rescue. It has helped us to look along the right lines, in terms of which modules get loaded into iis space and which may be the cause. However, it also shows a repeating exception (every 30 minutes or so), with an error number 8000d001. The fact that the log analyser shows it in Hex, tells us that no appropriate error description could be found. I have searched the MSDN library and the internet, but can't seem to find this exceptional exception...

Does anybody have an idea? I'd be much obliged.
