I know the feeling. That does seem kind of slow, though. I had some pentium 233's that were instantiating quicker... If you are using OLE automation for Word, does that have to instantiate before you show the form?
Is the CREATEOBJECT("Word.Application") in Init or load, I guess is what I am asking? If so, maybe you could do that part after showing the form? Large numbers of classes or objects instantiating on a form will slow it, apparently.

I am just guessing.<g>
