Thanks, Mike. I missed the difference between hhw.exe and hhc.exe. I didn't know about hhc.exe, which solves a problem I've been wondering about for a long time. It also might be worth noting that hhc.exe runs in its own DOS window, and you can capture the log of any compiler-generated output/error messages by using DOS output redirection.
