The problem with the described method is that communicaction has to be established via a GSM phone. This isn't practical in my (very limited !) application as there is a constant 2 way communication throughout an 8-10 hour working day, the phone bill would be unacceptably high.

However, whilst browsing the web I found this link: http://www.brainboxes.com/
This company has developed an RS232-Bluetooth dongle that can plug into any RS232 port along with PC and CF bluetooth cards that can be plugged into the PDA.

I called the local dealer and the combined price for both components is reasonable (around US$300). According to the dealer, it should be available at the end of January.
