Detecting numeric overflow in report?

Hi all,
I've been asked to detect "***,***,***", for example, when it occurs in a report. I don't need to fix it on the fly, but need to send a message to a final checlist report, which detects all kinds of errors in over 20 different other reports.

Has anyone thought of a way to detect an overflow on a report? There is no corresponding table field overflow, so trapping an error seems to be out. I thought of first sending all reports to a file, then parsing for a string of ",***," but I hope there is another way.

This is a FoxDos 2.6 app (yep that's DOS) but a VFP approach might be interesting to others as well.

Thanks for any help.
