I have some free tables that are part of the database container. (These are Visual Extend tables such as VFXSYS). The problem is that although the sdtmeta file contains the fields for this table, when I try to update the application executable, the free tables are not getting the new fields. In my Update directory I put:
SDTMETA.*
MYDATA.DBC
SDTUSR.*
COREMETA.*
DBCXREG.*

If I put my free tables in this directory, the contents of my free tables are overwritten with the contents of the update records, which I don't want. If I don't include them in the update directory, UPDATE does not add new fields.

What am I doing wrong?
