Haven't tried it with a Hyperlink but I know grids can be tricky while inserting a control. The reason is mostly that you haven't the column activated for the insert as you should.

I normaly do the insert by a CTRL-C/CTRL-V in a way that I drop the desired control first on the form, take it from there with a CTRL-C or X and make then sure the correct column in the grid is activated. Works best by choosing it in the property window. Then I do a CTRL-V and that's it.

If it really doesn't take a Hyperlink, try it also with a Hyperlink in a container.
