My company's internal EDP auditor asks me whether is it possible to prevent users from accessing data via the MS/DOS prompt, though the application resides on a Novell server. I came up with the following options :
1. Encrypt all data files , OR
2. Amend Novell's login script to activate application, by-passing Program Manager (i.e. WIN APP.EXE)
Prevent users from accessing Windows - DOS Prompt
Upon quiting application, quit Winows and Logout from network.

Either way..anyone one know how to go about doing it?

If answer to option 1 is to include data files in Project and compile using Encrypt, what are the consequences?
Can data be added on ? I mean adding new records, amending etc.? Would the EXE be too large? It's already about 6.5MB.

As for option 2, how to disable ALT-TAB(switch windows)?

Please help..
You may assume these users have all rights to the data directory.

Thanks.
