Yes, we got it to work on a grid column. We change cursor to hand, then back to user default in mousemove of surrounding grid columns and form. We haven't tried it anywhere else yet, since that's the only place we needed it so far...but it works with both restoring the I-beam and also an unusual cursor the hypothetical user might have instead of I-beam...

We haven't rigorously tested it though, we were just satisfied it worked well enough for our design phase of this project...
