I did basically what you said and it worked
Heres the code that I fixed:
'CONVERT(char(36),r.RequestID)="'+CONVERT(char(36),@RequestID)+'"'

I had to use some extra quotes and also had to CONVERT both sides to make the comparison expression valid.
