I wouldn't replace SQL Server with anything save Oracle and only then if you need to run an RDBMS on another (non-Windows) platform like UNIX or LINUX.

I must admit, I know nothing of Pervasive SQL or SQL Anywhere so I'd be interested to learn why these databases are better than SQL Server.
