Hi!

This is the similar as a scanning of all indexes in the index order - > similar to scaning all records in some calculation commands. I know no any way to do this except using special calculated field or using "count to" command:

CurRec = recno()
count to ttt for recno() = CurRec

Above will return what you want in the ttt.

>Is there a VFP command similar to RECNO() except it returns the position of the record with respect to the current index? (pardon the grammar)
>(By contrast, RECNO() returns the physical record number regardless of the record's position once you have set the index tag.)
>Thanks, Chaim

The professional level of programmer could be determined by level of stupidity of his/her bugs

It is not appropriate to say that question is "foolish". There could be only foolish answers. Everybody passed period of time when knows nothing about something.
