I'm sorry if i told you that i open all the tables at application startup.
I thought i said that i only opened the base tables. With that i mean only the tables that are used in many of my forms. Specific tables i still open in the form itself, and not at application startup

That's a thing to look at.
When the user made changes or as you say creates a new record, you have to make sure that the changes are saved before the record pointer moves.
you can handle that by asking to save the data when they leave the form.
