On the not-so-obvious category, ask him to name 2 or 3 vfp mvp's. That should give you a clue as to how involved this person is with the vfp community, which means that he's probably a resourceful person.

If you want to get obvious, ask what online resources he uses and how often.

When was the last time he attended a developers' conference.

Name 3 vfp books that he uses regularly.
