If I have set status bar on, it displays Records added 100, 200, etc.
If I do set talk window without status bar, I see it in a screen (and, BTW, it seems to run faster this way, though I might be wrong). Using your form, I see only empty form. Weird.

Could somebody else reproduce this behavior?
