This is very strange. I don't usually use form properties as the controlsource for a combo, but I was able to reproduce your problem. I could fix it by creating a cursor in the form's Init (I called it UserChoice) that has a single field for storing the combo selection. I inserted a record with 4 in it, to mimic what you had initialized for the form property. I then changed the ControlSource for the combo to this cursor and field, and it worked fine. You may want to use that as a workaround. I'll post this issue on the MVP newsgroup to see if anyone else is aware of it.
