If you revert the table, then you revert the log table at the same time. It's not going to slow down the app enough to worry about, because the code will only fire if the field value has changed.

At some point, the clients/users will have to take responsibility for their data. We HAVE included a time-adjustment which allows for time zone differences.

This is fine, if your tables are small enough that uploading/downloading all the tables is not prohibitive.
