We are using a barcode scanner for an employee punch-clock were I work (written in VFP6.0) and I hope you or your client understand the computer waiting to receive the scanner info has to be a stand alone computer with the textbox waiting for the scanner info has the focus. In another words if someone else tries to use the computer to do something else the textbox will loose it's focus and if the scanner is operated at that point you might not get the results you expected. We dedicated one computer for our "punch-clock" and the floor manager can check on his computer with a different interface "who is in and who is not" without touching the dedicated computer. I hope it's clear enough.
